Turks have given a lending hand to several groups of oppressed communities throughout history. Turkish Passport Documentary, the story of Turkish hero diplomats who saved numerous Jewish people during World War II, is one of the prominent evidences, which shows that reality.
Turkish Passport that successfully represented Turkey in Cannes Film Festival clearly shows Turkey's gentle approach towards oppressed people over the course of decades. For the purpose of sharing that vital message with world public opinion, Harvard University Turkish Student Association and World Youth Platform will carry out "Turkish Passport Documentary American Premiere" in Harvard University Sanders Theatre on November 22, 2011.
During one of the darkest times, Second World War days. France is under occupation of Third Reich; European Jewish people are being sent to concentration camps, and being killed mercilessly. Politically and economically injured country, Turkey, issues Turkish passports to Jewish people in order to rescue their lives. Thanks to those "Hope Tickets", given by Turkish hero diplomats, hundreds of Jewish people head for Turkey in lifesaver railroad trains.
Besides to special preview of Turkish Passport documentary, various peaceful rescripts which have been created by Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic Governors, will be exhibited in Harvard University on November 22, 2011.
